Lors des Jeux olympiques d&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 de 2004, Baldini a termin\u00e9 premier du marathon masculin et a remport\u00e9 une m\u00e9daille d&rsquo;or. <br\/>Il a termin\u00e9 devant le Br\u00e9silien Vanderlei de Lima, qui \u00e9tait en t\u00eate du marathon avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre pouss\u00e9 hors du parcours par un manifestant, Neil Horan. Apr\u00e8s une saison 2007 d\u00e9cevante au cours de laquelle il n&rsquo;a pas termin\u00e9 le marathon de Londres, Baldini a choisi de courir le marathon de New York, qu&rsquo;il a termin\u00e9 \u00e0 la 4e place. <br\/>Baldini a termin\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re olympique aux Jeux olympiques d&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 de 2008, terminant 12e.
